Happy New Year

Hello everyone.......it has been quite some time since I last posted......I admire people who blog on a regular basis.....We had a wonderful Christmas....and SNOW!!! Let me see...what is new with me....late last fall I decided to get healthier and take better care of myself...it all started because my cholesterol was up and I was told that if I didn't get it under control in a few months I would have to go on medication....so I set some "realistic goals" for myself....#1. No eating after 7pm if at all possible #2. Drink 6 to 8 glasses of water per day #3. Record my daily food intake using a wonderful program called MyFitnessPal #4. Exercise at least 3 times per week - anything over that would be a bonus #5. Be more "Gluten Free" aware and try to be gluten free as much as possible. #6 Lastly, try to be in bed before midnight. #7. Making better food choices - but NOT DIETING!! I am glad to say I am doing all of these for the most part and am now down 11 pounds.....so this is pretty exciting....I see so many people I know set unrealistic goals for themselves in losing weight....they exercise like crazy, diet, and do well for a while to get them started, but fizzle out and eventually are right back where they started from.....I have tried and failed before in getting healthier and put some thought into this....it isn't rocket science...it is very basic stuff.....I figured it took me 55 years to create this body....so it wasn't going to happen over night....baby steps...and with this attitude, I am slowly seeing results.....by making healthier choices, I hope to soon create HABITS that I will keep for life....I will keep you posted on my progress.....I would love to lose 5 to 6 more pounds which isn't much...but they always say the last few pounds are the hardest to lose.....but if not....oh well....I will try to maintain. On another note....I decided it was time I learned how to rug hook. I create patterns for rug hookers....so thought it was high time I knew how to do it....and I have to say.....there is a little bit to it...and so far my mat looks like a total mess on the backside....but I know with experience comes perfection.....so it will be interesting to see how I improve over time.
