We did receive “the commission” from Shelly. It turned out to be even more beautiful than we ever could have expected! The painting arrived during a very stressful time in our lives involving the loss of someone we loved dearly. Unwrapping the package and finally seeing this fantastic creation brought a smile to the face of every member of our family; something much needed. Thank you Shelly for your creativity and thoughtfulness! We’ll cherish the painting for many years to come…
Thank you so much for the wonderful post on my blog! It is people like you that make painting all worthwhile! I am so glad that it helped you all during the loss of your loved one! Thank you!
I live in Truro, Nova Scotia with my husband Earle, and our dog izzy. Our son Matthew is away at college. I began painting in 1990. I am self taught. I enjoy experimenting with various styles, colors, textures and techniques. I am forever learning.
I have illustrated a children's book entitled, "Good Night
Flying Cows", and created my own book of poems and illustrations
while going through the healing process of breast cancer. I have
worked with many wonderful organizations and companies through
licensing of my artwork, and also through commissions:
Heifer International,House of Assembly - Nova Scotia,Tim Horton's Children's Foundation,American Humane Organization,Humane Society of Canada, World Society for Protection of Animals, Paws/LA Org.,Unicef - 2005 Campaign, Tree House Animal Foundation,SPCA International
